VAN CHANKANHA
Co-founder
Van Chankanha is the project officer for The Cambodian NGO Committee on CEDAW (NGO-CEDAW) and a co-founder of the Breakthrough movement.
As a Cambodian woman, she grew up seeing how society treats women and men unequally.
After earning her master’s degree in applied economics at Hitotsubashi University, Japan, Kanha has worked in various fields in the health, water supply, and women’s rights sectors. Kanha’s ambition is to support Cambodian women and girls, including herself, in breaking through negative social norms to fully access their rights and freedom. For Kanha, being a founder of Breakthrough is a dream come true.
